Have you ever tried a sugarplum? Everyone is familiar with the song Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy made famous by Tchaikovsky’s The Nutcracker, originally produced at the Imperial Mariinsky Theatre in St. Petersburg on December 18, 1892. The composition brings to mind the Sugarplum Fairy and the people of the Land of Sweets. Have you ever tasted a Sugarplum from the Land of Sweets? Of course you remember "Visions of sugarplums danced in their heads," from "Twas the Night Before Christmas.”

A sugarplum is a piece of dragée, from the French, ultimately from Greek tragêmata "sweets, treats", a form of confectionery.
